This makes it much easier to find the fault and also means that the functions do not have to be duplicated.Furthermore, the inconvenience to the consumer is kept to a minimum because only the group in which the fault occurs is tripped. Alamat is provided with an electronic earth leakage protection and compared with mechanical earth leakage protection, has a number of attractive advantages: The magnitude of the operating current (10, 30, 100 and 300mA) is set in the factory with great accuracy and the values are fixed. Nuisance tripping is kept to a minimum. The tripping force is independent of the size of the fault current and is not affected by ageing phenomena.
